November Meeting Recap

TGIF, EWI San Diego!  Can you believe Thanksgiving is next week!?  I can almost smell the turkey cooking now.

Did you miss the November Chapter Meeting at member firm Flowers by Coley Here’s how we kicked off the holiday spirit…

We were greeted at the door with scrumptiously scented votive candles and deliciously refreshing cocktails, courtesy of Kristy Weinzimer.  Once the meeting was under way, our Courtesy Chair, Anita Tindall, read and inspirational Prayer of St. Francis of Assisi and led us in the pledge of allegiance before announcing our November birthdays and guests of the evening.

From there we broke off into groups – some shopped first; others worked on the festive harvest-themed floral displays that Kristy and her team so generously let us create and take home.

While noshing on hors d’oeuvres from Wild Thyme Catering and enjoying the company of fellow EWI members, Fundraising DirectorJoy Malaise, of Promises2Kids announced the winner of the 50/50 opportunity drawing: Jennifer Hopper, of Bay Alarm Systems.

It was then time to thank Phil Blair of Manpower for a very informative and engaging webinar on “Negotiating Salary and Promotions” and then I provided the date of our next corporate webinar: December 4th at 12pm PST.  The webinar will be “Shape Your Time for Work Life Balance” and will be presented by Samantha Lane, Owner of Origami Day.  Next, I asked for people to join the Reading Rally committee and provided a little more detail of what’s involved.  If you are looking to be a part of a rewarding experience, please contact me or , Vice President – President Elect, Darlene Banogon, of North Island Credit Union

Special thanks: Programs Director, Colette Morel of Manpower, and Kristy Weinzimer of Flowers by Coley for a wonderfully festive evening at our member firm.  Thanks, again, to Wild Thyme Catering for the tasty bites.

May you all have a truly blessed Thanksgiving Holiday with your loved ones.  I am thankful for each and every one of you.  Looking forward to seeing you all and celebrating at the December 11th Chapter Meeting and Holiday Fundraiser at Harbor House.
