December Meeting Recap

Happy Holidays, EWI San Diego!

The December Chapter Meeting and Holiday Fundraiser “The Music of Christmas”, at Harbor House, was a truly festive evening!  If you were unable to join us, we missed you!

Programs Director, Colette Morel of Manpower didn’t disappoint with this venue!  We had a direct view of the crisp, moonlit water and all things that were adorned in Christmas lights.  Thank you, so very much, Colette for all the work you put in to making this a special evening for us.

Colette delivered a thoughtful invocation and led us in the pledge of allegiance.  Courtesy Chair, and Life Member Anita Tindall then announced our December birthdays and guests of the evening.

For dinner, we selected our entrée of choice from a special menu (all entrees looked delicious – it was hard to choose).  While waiting for the meal, members enjoyed spending time with each other while placing bids on all the wonderful silent auction items and tantalizing edible goodies.

Fundraising Director Joy Malaise, of Promises2Kids led us all in some holiday fun by splitting us into teams to try and decipher Christmas Carols that were read to us backwards.  It was more difficult to figure out than you’d think!  As the countdown for final bids drew to a close, we sang a Christmas carol together and then Joy announced the winners of the auction items.

Special Thanks: Joy Malaise and her committee for making this evening another fundraising success (your hard work does not go unnoticed)! Everyone who generously donated items for the fundraiser and all who bid to help us achieve our fundraising goals: thank you!!  The EWI Chapter Board for the little purple “throne” – it is perfect!

Happy New Year, everyone!  May 2019 bring all the health, joy, love and success you each deserve.  I am excited to see what the new year brings for EWI and I can’t wait to experience it all alongside you.  See you at the January 15th Chapter Meeting (location to be announced first week of January).
