We missed you at EWI of San Diego’s monthly meeting dedicated to “Networking, Exchange of Ideas, Information and Resources” on Tuesday, February 16 at The Abbey.  Following are some highlights from the evening ~ we hope to see you soon.

Our speaker, Mindy Selinger, is a recognized authority on business networking. She conducts trainings teaching business owners and sales representatives how to find and build business relationships with a curriculum called The Link System®.  http://thelinksystem.com/

Mindy shared her vast knowledge and experience in the field of networking strategies. Networking is the exchange of ideas, information, and resources. A valuable employee is a well-connected member of the business community. You are worth more to your company when you have a large bank of resources to call upon. You will know who to call when you need a resource for a project; an outside opinion; or want to make an introduction. She presented The Four Pre-Qual Questions – that take about 5 minutes – for us to use when attending a networking event – and suggested we plan our ‘campaign’ in advance of the event, arrive early and wear a professional name tag.

What market do you serve?

Disengage the conversation by saying, “I enjoyed talking with you but don’t want to monopolize your time. I know you want to meet other people here. Let’s exchange cards – we may be able to help each other develop some business.” As you walk away, ask yourself, “Does anyone in my network need to meet this person?” There was time for role playing to try out our new skills.
