EWI San Diego Scholarships
EWI of San Diego annually awards scholarship monies to help San Diegans achieve their academic goals. The EWI Scholarship Program (EWISP) is an annual, competition-based program that nationally awards more than $200,000 in college scholarship money to qualifying high school seniors each year.
EWISP Information
- Students are nominated by their schools to participate in the scholarship competition. Only one student will be selected from each high school in San Diego County.
- Judges select winning students based on their scholastic achievement, leadership qualities, good citizenship and extra-curricular activities.
- High school seniors initially apply for EWISP and then compete at the local Chapter level where award levels vary.
- Chapter level winners are submitted to the Corporate level for an opportunity to win one of multiple scholarships. Scholarship Awards range between $1,000 and $2,500.
- The local Chapter’s award recipient will be honored at the Scholarship Luncheon in San Diego at a location to be determined.

ASIST Information
The ASIST scholarship is available to adults facing economic, social or physical challenges, who are looking to improve their situation through educational opportunities. The Adult Students in Scholastic Transition (ASIST) Scholarship Program helps provide financial support to adult students in a variety of situations. EWI believes that the ASIST Program will positively impact the personal life, employment, family and community of the applicant.
The ASIST Scholarship is a non-discriminatory, educational scholarship program for the benefit of non-traditional students pursuing an associate’s, bachelor’s or master’s degree, or a certificate program at an accredited educational institution. These include persons who are:
- Past high school age and who are entering a college, university or trade school and/or the workforce for the first time
- Non-traditional students already enrolled in a college, university or trade school program
- Re-training due to changes in the workplace
In addition to the San Diego Chapter ASIST scholarship awards, there are Corporate awards given annually. Corporate awards are selected from first place Chapter ASIST winners.
